Low Income Housing? Is Agoura Too Good For It?

On December 20th, The Acorn ran a story that made our stomach turn. Apparently a Mr. Jim Lahana, representing the Morrison Ranch Homeowners Association in Agoura, made it be known, that Agoura was not the place for low income housing, despite law that requires communities to make available such housing. According to Mr. Lahana and as reported by the Acorn, 'Lahana said lower income families are generally less educated, and he equated very low income families with "fast food workers," crime and gang activity. He also said residents are worried that low-income families would violate housing codes and allow multiple families to move into single units.'

My goodness, I wonder what Lhana would think of us as our parents were defiantly 'working class'. A cop and a waitress to be exact. A cop and a waitress today would not be able to afford Agoura, Calabasas, Westlake and that is a shame. This sort of elitist mentality forgest the problems that plague communities like ours. It's called affluenza and it has a whole range of issues that we have discussed on previous posts.

Oprah, Obama and Hollywood

Hey, we like a hot looking politician with charisma, charm, and smarts as much as the next person. (No not Bill). We're intrigued with the whole Obama-mama-mania! But we're worried that his Hollywood connection could hurt him. Of course we guessed wrong when we thought the Oprah endorsement would be his death. We guess we're the only one who thinks "O" is a self serving, pompous ideologue, obsessed with ruling the world. But hey: that's just us.

We'll see in the long run. It looks like Hillary's tears helped her in New Hampshire. You go girl!

Hillary just made me love her. She got real! Please more of this Mrs. Clinton. We want to believe you aren't completely robotic and devoid of emotion. Bill had it down. Learn from the master baby! Back from the Dead

It's been awhile since we have spouted opinion here at the Calabasas Chronicle. What with life, work, kids, coffee with friends, spending time browsing e-Bay, etc, we've been very busy. But no more! Our blog will no longer be the forgotten stepchild. It is now a priority!

We start the year with the most compelling news of the day. The 2008 election? No. The war in Iraq? Nah, the Writers Strike? nope.

The most compelling news of the day is the complete and utter breakdown of Britney Spears. C'mon, everyone is talking about it. The woman has not only taken a long break from reality, but we are witnesses every moment of it, thanks to the paparazzi, celebrity blogs and T.V. shows like TMZ.

Amazingly sad, but completely mesmerizing, this story is not about to go away anytime soon.

According to my favorite Mean Guy, Perezhilton.com, Brit was seen Saturday night in Palm Springs, buying booze like a sorority sister with a Saturday night party to cater.

We think a poll is in order. Is this woman suffering from 1.substance abuse 2.post partum depression 3.bi-polar disorder 4.child celebrity syndrome 5.none of the above, who knows what her problem is and honestly, there is an election going on. Let's get real here.
