Mecury's Rising When Eating Sushi

Though the thought of slabs of raw tuna fish isn't everyone's cup of tea, consumption has sky rocketed in the US over the last decade, with the growth of the "chic" sushi business . Now a new study should have parents thinking twice: LATimes. GoMercury.org recently found that mercury levels in tuna at LA's top sushi restaurants were double the FDA's standards, with some levels so high that it is surprising the fish lived at all! High mercury levels are linked to reduced brain development in fetuses and young children. In adults mecury has a variety of toxic effects, mostly related to the nervous system and the brain.
